Ground-breaking project set to change the face of operational FM
An industry first – FM Optimiser, an FM software package created by facilities managers for facilities managers.
A new company is set to revolutionise the facilities management software landscape with the development of a new system built on established British Standards and shaped by the frontline FMs who will actually use it.
Driving this unprecedented industry initiative is a young company, complyNC Ltd, a leading edge technology business addressing the contemporary demands for operational compliance in the property and facilities sector. complyNC was launched in 2009 by two well-known and respected players in the UK facilities management community, Mark Purnell and Colin Payne. Purnell and Payne were previously senior directors of the highly successful, innovative and award-winning Intelligent Property Group (IPG), which was acquired by investors in 2008.
With this new project, the team aims to harness the talent, knowledge and experience of the UK FM world to encourage significant professional improvements to operational FM.
Creating a new benchmark with and for the industry
Purnell explains the project's objectives: "We believe it's time someone took on the all-too-common dilemma FMs face in sourcing a practical CAFM system which is not exorbitantly expensive, needlessly complex and un-user friendly, and which will 'talk to' and share data with other legacy systems.
"In what will be a wholly industry-led and genuinely collaborative initiative, complyNC has built a team up to design and develop a leading planned and reactive facilities software system. This will be exclusively developed in close consultation and partnership with an experienced panel of industry representatives from a wide ranging cross-section of skilled stakeholders from within the world of facilities management - those who truly understand what is required of FM technology 'in the field' and, as importantly, what is not."
Purnell adds that panel members will have the opportunity to take a stake in the product, which has already been branded 'FM Optimiser'. Alternatively, they may choose to contribute their stake to charity.
FM Optimiser has been conceived to be the industry benchmark CAFM system and will be intrinsically designed to be very affordable, simple to set-up and use, fully capable of sharing data and information with other leading software systems and entirely relevant to the needs of operational FM at all levels.
"It won’t come in a tin, but it will do exactly what it says – optimise FM," Purnell declares.
"2010 promises to be a very challenging and exciting year for FM innovation," Mark Purnell concludes.
The FM Optimiser project is being developed in conjunction with i-FM, the award-winning web-based news and information service for the facilities management industry.
